Welcome to Gadeside Golf Society
The Golf Society was established in 2008 by Steve Hunt to provide a fundraising outlet for the adults who play or attempt to play golf within our club
So far we have had to successful Golf Days with lots of laughs plus the added bonus of raising money for the club
Report - Golf Day Saturday 4th July - Haste Hill Golf Club
A new venue for this golf day saw 21 players arrive at haste hill golf course for another day of fun and golf.
After tea/coffee and bacon sarnies it was time for tee off and to see just who would be in the running for the trophies this time.
On a really hot and sunny day like this it was always going to be a long round of golf, but the wise? ones had booked up golf karts to make it less demanding on their feet (plus it was a handy way of carrying their beers!)
Eventually all had made it back to the clubhouse and we were served a really nice roast beef dinner and an equally nice pudding.
Then it was time for the trophies to be given out by chairman Neil Bryon.

Next came the awards that most players had a very good chance of winning.
Winner of the Wooden Spoon: Mark Shearwood
Bucket and Spade winners: Martin Rees and Rob Hutchinson
(awarded to players whom their team mates said spent most time in the bunkers!)
we also had a special trophy for our societies undefeated ladies champion Una Pearce as she has won her competition 3 times !
As ever there was the raffle and for the first time there were some decent prizes!!

After all the takings had been added up the day has raised £265 for our football club, so a really big thank you to all who came and joined us on this great day.
Special thanks to John Healy and his friends, plus Malcolm Spooner for helping to mark the score cards, plus thanks to Mark Shearwood for ensuring I got to haste hill on time!
Thanks also to Una for running the raffle plus thanks to Neil for his continued support of the golf society. Plus thanks to staff at haste hill especially Wayne the barman who was kept busy and entertained by us all!
